Fiction Writing as an Early Educator

Fiction Writing as an Early Educator

I’m an early educator of 25 years; retired from the classroom. In daycare/preschools, we know that one of the main tools used in the classroom is children's books. I have read numerous children's books and when you connect that fact to me publishing a children's book series you can see where much of my background regarding writing is from.

I assume it is safe to say if you are a reader, it can be natural to walk into being a writer if that is your gift. That leads me to the characters of the Mac and Roni Read Book Series regarding how they came about, or the professional term would be character development. Character development in my opinion is broad in that the development of the character is its name, physical features, personality, and in the actual book or movie you'll see the character develop.

In short, as an early educator being creative as well as utilizing books as tools in the classroom has a lot to do with how the Mac and Roni Read Book Series characters were developed. Mac is brother and Roni is his twin sister; the name is phonological in that it is pulled out of the word MacaRoni. Macaroni and cheese is one of my favorite cuisines and it's very popular among children.

There you have a little tidbit regarding character development of Mac and Roni Read in the fictional realm.
