My Ray of Sunshine 

                                                     Spirit

 

There is a certain slant of light

That split thru my window

Into multi-colored rays

Which bounce and tumble to the floor

The bright elusive beads

Dance and tease my poor cat

Hunched up in the corner

Tense and vigilant

Eyes gleaming with triumph

She pounces on the intruder

And swallows it whole

I can’t wait for spring when the lilacs will come into bloom and spread its heady fragrance. It’s so short and flitting. If you snooze you will miss it.I just can’t have enough of it. So I hang over the blooms, inhaling burying my face in its softness. I don’t like to cut their branches and put the flowers in my vase. Because that would be sad. It would be a waste killing flowers in bloom. When I sniff the petals clinging on the branches I feel calm and soothed. All the inner turmoil in my heart vanishes like the morning mist. My creative juices flow. My female protagonist will definitely walk through a trail of lilac blooms.But to get to the blooms in my neighborhood, I have to...
