Anthony was born in Cape Town, where he lived the first thirty years of his life. In 1995, he moved to London to pursue a career in law, and worked as an in-house lawyer in the life sciences industry until 2020, when he retired to pursue his passion for writing.
Since then, he has published two books based on the work he did as an international in-house lawyer, The Essential Toolkit for Governance and Compliance and The Definitive Guide to Setting up and Managing the In-house Legal Team. Halfway through writing the third legal textbook, he had a dream, which inspired his first foray into fiction writing, The Box, which is also published on Amazon.
During 2023, he wrote a novel, The Awakening, under the tutelage of the author, Mike Nicol, in Cape Town, and is currently embarking on the process of seeking a traditional publisher.
His project for 2024 is a collection of eight short stories, each with a last page twist, dealing with everyday life conundrums, Twists and Turns: Tales to Test the Conscience. He has self-published the first four of these on Amazon: The Pen, There but for the Grace of God, Missing and The Sins of their Parents, with four more to follow.
Future plans include a whodunnit murder mystery..
"I am on a steep learning curve, and have come to realise that there is a lot more to being an author than the writing: editing, production, publication (self and traditional), securing an agent, marketing, sales, distribution and more. I am using each of these projects as an opportunity to learn as much as possible about each of these elements, and thoroughly enjoying it."
The Box
